Although our group lessons are the best way to solidly enforce the basic steps, our Friday Night pre-dance lessons are a great way to add to your repertoire once you have gotten started.

Some Beginners, however, are not comfortable in a group setting and do better with the one-on-one advantage of Private lessons. The Promenade has a large group of professional instructors who teach private lessons at our facility in all levels and styles of dance. Their fees range from $60 per hour, for a single or a couple and up to $125 per hour depending on their credentials and experience. Keep in mind that while $60 or more may seem like a large investment, compared to a $10 per hour group lesson ( $20 for a couple), but the amount of individual attention you receive in a Private lesson -- compared to the shared attention in a group -- quickly balances out the cost-per-instruction time ratio.

As you progress, the Promenade has several ISTD syllabus-based classes -- taught by certified instructors -- that you can smoothly advance into.

Saturday evening dances are another way to improve your dancing skills and learn some more difficult steps -- these lessons are always on an Intermediate Level. They also focus on one particular dance for the entire month offering students an opportunity to concentrate on one dance, learning new figures, style, and more technique than they would typically learn in our Beginner Sessions. We have a variety of talented instructors who teach our pre-dance lessons on both Friday and Saturday Nights, giving our dancers an opportunity to get a taste of of their wide range of talents and their individual styles of teaching.
